How this works

2 min

Hi, I'm Ibrahim from Skill Upward. This check shows you where you really are with Canva, and exactly what to learn next.

  • Answer 15 quick questions about real design moments. Pick what you would actually do, not what sounds right.
  • "Not sure yet" is a fine answer. It helps put you at the right level.
  • You get your level, your strongest area, the area to grow, a 5-step roadmap and a practice project.

Your answers stay in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. Close the page and come back later, and you carry on where you stopped.

Level 1 of 4

First Steps

You're at the start, and that's a great place to be. Good habits are easiest to build now. Your roadmap keeps it simple: start from templates, make them yours, and download the right file.

Level 2 of 4

Solid Basics

You can make a design and get it out the door. Now it's about looking clean on purpose: readable text, sharp photos and colours that match.

Level 3 of 4

Clean Designer

Your designs already look tidy. The next jump is consistency and speed: your own starting designs, a clear style, and files that print right the first time.

Level 4 of 4

Confident Creator

You know what makes a design work. Now it's about doing more with less effort: making designs in batches, resizing, staying organised and checking before you share.

You scored 0 out of 30.

Your five skill areas

Layout0 of 6
Text0 of 6
Photos0 of 6
Brand0 of 6
Finishing0 of 6

Your strongest area

Layout. You think about where things go and what people see first. That's the base everything else sits on.

Text. You keep fonts simple and words easy to read. That alone makes a design look more professional.

Photos. You keep images sharp, in shape and safe to use. Good photos carry a design.

Brand. Your designs look like they belong together. People will start to recognise your work.

Finishing. You pick the right file and share it the right way, so your work looks as good out there as it does in Canva.

None yet, and that's fine. Everyone starts here. Your roadmap builds the basics behind all five areas, one step at a time.

Balanced. Your five areas are level with each other, so no single weak spot is holding you back.

Your area to grow

Layout. Line things up, leave even space, and make one thing clearly the most important. Your designs will look calmer straight away.

Text. Stick to one or two fonts, and make sure every word is easy to read, even on a photo. Give lines of text room to breathe.

Photos. Never stretch a photo to fit. Crop it or put it in a frame, start with photos big enough for the job, and only use photos you're allowed to use.

Brand. Choose 2 to 4 colours and one font pair, and reuse them. Copy a design you like instead of starting over.

Finishing. PNG for sharp graphics on screens, JPG for photos, and a PDF made for printing when it goes to a printer. Send view-only links when people only need to look.

All five, in order. Your areas are even, so follow your roadmap from step 1. It's built to lift every area together.
